Terre di Poggio Montepulciano d'Abruzzo

Name:Terre di poggio Variety:Laude  Region: Abruzzo Country: Italy  Year: 2012 Price:$8.95 Winery review:  This opens with dark aromas of leather, tobacco, cured meat, plum and prune. It shows soft tannins and loads of dark fruit on the finish.   My review:  I really really liked this one. It was obviously a dark red but was very strange. It smelled very strongly of plum to me. Taste wise though it was a strange mix of plum mixed with a bitterness that was very strong and since I got the tail end of the bottle there was a little grit or something maybe left over from another bottle. This wine also had the strange sensation that it lingered when it was finished and seemed to coat my tongue I was tempted to buy this one but opted not to since I was shopping for groceries and used too much money. I would recommend though.   ***I did not eat anything with this wine***

Sean Minor

Name: Sean Minor Variety:Pinot Noir Rose Vin Gris Region: Carneros Country: California  Year: 2013 Price:$8.95(normally 20) Winery review:  The Vin Gris is a bright and vibrant salmon color with cherry, strawberry, cranberry and ripe watermelon aromas on the nose.  On entry, the wine displays bright strawberry flavors. Throughout the mid-palate and finish, raspberry and cherry fruit characters are balanced with spicy and crisp acidity that linger creating a refreshing and lengthy finish. My review:  This one was rather sweet but was not overpowering so I actually enjoyed it still it had a lighter taste with more of a spice about halfway that if you keep swirling the wine in your mouth it would stay as long as you kept the wine in your mouth and moved it. I would recommend simply for that strange feeling but on the whole it was an average wine for me.   ***I did not eat anything with this wine***

Grande Resereve des Bastides

Name: Grande Resereve Des Bastides Variety:Gaillac Region: Gaillac Country: France Year: 2013 Price: $9.95 Winery review:  A crisp and fruity blend featuring 20% of the herbaceous Sauvignon Blanc, 50% creamy Loin de l’Oeil and notes of fresh apple and crisp pear, plus a touch of herb from the 30% Mauzac. It has a bright feel, with a hint of mineral on the finish. My review:  This wasn't too bad for a white I still personally shuddered when I drank it so I don't think I can personally recommend it but i liked the ending cause it coated my tongue with an earthy taste but also had the last bits of the bottle so that could have just been sediment.   ***I did not eat anything with this wine***
