Wine and cheese night! Wine/Cheese pairing #1

So as above shows this was a wine and cheese night. As opposed to my tastes my roommates chose white wines. I enjoyed the Ramond hill by itself but to be honest it was the least bad of the night. But its was fun we mixed and matched all the cheese and such together and I found out that personally I LOVE goat cheese (caps meant on purpose). The only thing is no matter what wine that I chose with it they all sucked honestly. Still I feel that these cheeses would be alot better if they were dry red wines.

Terranoble Chardonnay

Name:Terranoble
Variety: Chardonnay
Region: Central Valley
Country:  Chile
Year: 2014
Price: $8.95
Winery review:
This Chardonnay offers a wine with an attractive color and lovely aromas, such as ripe pear and pineapple, mixed with butter and vanilla notes. It is a fresh style of white wine, with medium persistence in mouth. Ideal as an aperitif.
 My review:
Unlike its Cab variant I really did not like this one at all. This was was very floral and after I taste that all I could taste was the alcohol in the wine itself so needless to say I didn't enjoy this wine nearly as much as the brother/sister wine. I wouldn't recommend this wine to anyone honestly since I really did not like it I don't feel I can give it a positive review or good notes of the wine. I really didn't like this wine at all I think it is safe I liked this one the least this week.

Terranoble Cabernet Sauvignon

Name:Terranoble
Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon
Region: Central Valley
Country:  Chile
Year: 2013
Price: $8.95
Winery review:
This Cabernet Sauvignon offers an intense and deep color and lovely aromas of red fruit, pepper and tobacco. It has smooth tannins, very freshness and rich fruit, which gives the wine a good balance. Pair with barbecued beef ribs, grilled sea bass, or spaghetti alla Bolognese.
 My review:
I liked this one a fair bit actually. It had the tannis and bitterness that I usually enjoy in a wine but with this wine it tasted as if it was trying to be both dry and sweet which threw me off a bit because I couldn't tell if it was meant to be this way or if maybe the other wine from before are still stuck in my mouth but it was still enjoyable though not nearly as much as the malbec. I would buy this wine at the price and be pretty happy honestly but it's not one I would write home about. I feel it should try to be one wine and not a mix of two styles(sweet/dry) and I would like it more.

Santola

Name:Santola
Variety: Vinho Verde
Region: Vinho Verde
Country:  Portugal
Year: N/A
Price: $7.95
Winery review:
Soft and creamy, although with just the right Vinho Verde bite, this is a crisp and clean wine, boasting light pear and pink grapefruit flavors. Off dry and very fresh.
 My review:
Again the name of this wine throws me off since to me it says (green wine) to me yet each time its a white wine and this time it was even funnier because the bottle was a clear green. Anywho the wine itself was weird and honestly was a simple taste it was sweet and tasted mostly of pears when I have to name the first taste that I sense. I was nothing really that great I didn't like usual like the sweetness and this one didn't overpower too much but it was just sweet then stopped that's about it.

Oasis del Cuyo

Name:Oasis del Cuyo
Variety: Malbec
Region: Mendoza
Country: Argentina
Year: N/A
Price: Regular Price $12 Sale $6.95
Winery review:

Deep ruby color. Appealing red fruit nose with hints of tobacco. Medium bodied with a smooth and lush mouth-feel. Finishes dry with lasting flavors. Excellent choice for a young and fruity everyday wine. Enjoy as an aperitif or with meats and pasta dishes.
 My review:
By far the best tasting wine for me this week, in fact I really liked this one more than other from other weeks and such. This one to me seems like it is simple in that it was bitter in the drying sense of the word. The wine made my tounge feel dry as if I drank over stepped tea and I adore this taste to no end. I noticed a bit of the kinda fruity taste is the closest thing I can match to what the left over feel in my mouth after the tasting.
